2014 Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut
Nova Scotia’s unique coastal-influenced terroir provides the necessary growing conditions for the production of distinctive, world class quality traditional method sparklings. The Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut is our top prestige cuvée offering from the 2014 vintage. This is a 100% Chardonnay, single-vineyard Méthode Classique sparkling from a specifically selected low-cropping block on our estate (Lightfoot Home Farm Vineyard in Wolfville, Nova Scotia). Primary fermentation was spontaneous with indigenous yeasts in just four very old/neutral French oak barrels. A partial malolactic fermentation and four years of lees aging, followed by an additional year of bottle aging post-disgorgement contributed to the creamy, elegant texture, balancing the vibrant acidity. A WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada gold medal recipient, this is the ideal wine to toast your next special occasion.
