Our Terroir Series celebrates small lot, single-varietal wines with a strong sense of place and tidal influence. The label imagery reflects this theme and helps tell the story of the land each wine comes from. The bees, butterflies and cow horns represent our biodynamic farming practices and our mission to promote and protect biodiversity. The eye represents the human element within our farm individuality and our intention to work in harmony with the natural world around us.

This Riesling is estate-grown (clone 49) with all grapes sourced from the Lightfoot Home Farm Vineyard in Wolfville, Nova Scotia; hand-harvested and whole cluster pressed on the 20th of October. Fermentation was spontaneous with wild yeasts in stainless steel.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw-gold in the glass with notes of crisp green apple, stone, honeyed lemon-lime and delicate white blossoms on the nose. Fresh, vibrant and slightly off-dry in style, with harmony between the lively cool climate acidity, subtle sweetness, and bright, primary fruit flavours. This wine has the structural integrity to age gracefully and will continue to evolve in bottle, gaining in complexity and depth over time.

Pairing suggestions include moderately spiced aromatic dishes, roasted poultry or pork, salty cheeses and seafood such as lobster thermidor or snow crab.
