From a single one-acre block of estate-grown Gamay Noir, hand-harvested from our certified organic and biodynamic Oak Island Vineyard in Avonport. Situated along the shores of the Minas Basin, this site benefits from cooling breezes that moderate the growing environment and impart freshness, energy, and a distinctive tidal influence.

Tasting Notes

Dark ruby hue in the glass. The nose opens with vibrant red and blue fruit - cherry pie filling and fresh Italian plum - layered with white pepper, dried raspberry leaf and earthy mineral notes. On the palate, red currant and ripe raspberry are framed by subtle dried herbs and a touch of mandarin peel zest, which brings freshness and vitality. Bright acidity is framed by smooth, fine-grained tannins with a creamy, velvety texture, leading to a savoury, tart cherry finish. Serious yet fresh, with a lively balance of fruit, spice, and minerality.

Best served slightly chilled. Pair with grilled sausage, pasta carbonara, or duck confit poutine.
